A Bradford dress or lining fabric in 4-shaft twill weave, made from a cotton warp and alpaca weft, 33-in. 90 yards, 72 X 100, 44's / 36's T.W. weft alpaca, usually 72 reed, but picks vary from 80 to 140. Warp varies from 36's to 44's cotton dyed black and the weft from 32's to 40's alpaca. 2 Albert Diagonal
A heavy ribbed cotton cloth woven in a 6- or 7-shaft twill weave, as shown in the diagram, but also with a weft float of 3 threads. Usually 31-in 100 yards, 56 X 200, 16's / 28's. A strong level warp yarn and a good velvet weft is necessary. Woven on a velvet loom. A bold rib is produced -
3 Coburg
A twill cloth made from cotton and silk, worsted and silk, or all worsted. Used as a dress fabric, varying in width and quality. One quality is made 64/128 per inch. 50's T., 72's W., botany yarns. Actually the cloth is a cashmere. It was introduced shortly after Queen Victoria's marriage to Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg. The Coburg today is an all-worsted fabric (see Paramatta)
